Calvin Horner was brought up locally in Stansted Mountfitchet attended Hadham Hall School in Little Hadham and has lived in Bishop’s Stortford for the last 18 years.
Calvin has working in housing management for both Councils and Housing Associations and more recently for local charities in East Herts as a debt adviser, support worker for adults with learning disabilities and as the co-ordinator of Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank. He is a member of Bishop’s Stortford Baptist and a Waterways Chaplain, supporting boaters living on the Lee and Stort Navigations.
Calvin served as a Bishop’s Stortford Town Councillor from 2007 – 2011 and again since 2021 and is the County Councillor for Bishop’s Stortford East. His main concerns are improving walking and cycling routes, the shortage social homes for rent and protecting services for the disabled. His spare time is spent in the garden and on his allotment. Calvin breeds new varieties of roses and is a judge at the UK rose seedling trials help just outside Hertford.
