OD/2514 - Allocation of UKSPF monies to Energy Hubs materials and thermal imaging cameras

At its meeting of 18th January 2023, Council approved the use of UKSPF monies to fund environmental sustainability projects. At the same meeting, Council delegated decision-making on all environmental grants and contracts funded in this way to the Head of Housing and Health acting in consultation with the Executive Member for Environmental Sustainability.
The Energy Hubs have been established under the UKSPF programme and are interacting with residents through events and publicity, all aimed at helping people to learn more about saving energy and reducing their carbon footprint. This decision covers a final allocation of £16,000 to the Energy Hubs programme for materials.
To support the Energy Hubs programme, £8,000 is to spent on the acquisition of 18 thermal imaging cameras which will be available for hire at no cost through the local library network. This will allow people to learn more about where their homes are leaking heat and thus inform decisions on measures to take.
