Road closure to support The Rotary Club of
Sawbridgeworth Christmas Eve Carols, on Fair Green, Sawbridgeworth
on 24th December 2025.
The event organiser has confirmed they have Public Liability
Insurance in place for this event.
The event organiser's risk assessment and associated supporting
documents have been shared with SAG partners, via Knowledge Hub,
for their review.
HCC Highways have confirmed there are no other road
works/maintenance works taking place at the same time as the
event.
The event is not taking place on a classified A or B road.
Emergency access will continue to be maintained.
The Director for Communities is making this decision under
authority delegated at paragraph 10.14.31 of the council’s
Constitution, ‘To determine road closure applications under
the Town Police Clauses Act 1847’
Grant the following road closure:
To close the following roads to vehicular traffic on 24th December
2025, between 17:45hrs and 19:30hrs, as necessary, to allow the
unhindered passage of vehicles and pedestrians involved with The
Rotary Club of Sawbridgeworth Christmas Eve Carols:
•In the town of Sawbridgeworth - The Square from the junction
with Bell Street, Knights Street and Church Street to an end point
of Fair Green, up to the junction with Vantorts Road
Option 1 - Not approve the road closure - NOT
RECOMMENDED. By not approving the road closure will likely prohibit
this historic community event and undermine community
engagement.
Option 2 - Approve the road closure - RECOMMENDED
