Funding a pool cover for Grange Paddocks
leisure centre will promote heat retention and energy saving,
thereby providing a carbon saving.
Planting of 100 trees in urban areas across the district (as part
of a larger programme of 250+ trees), targeting Air Quality
Management Areas and flood risk areas, for contributions to carbon
sequestration and air quality.
A contribution towards the implementation at Fletcher’s Lea,
Ware of an air source heat pump system.
Allocation of UKSPF sustainability stream
funds to the following projects:
* fund a pool cover at Grange Paddocks leisure centre -SLM,
£43,891.20
* fund 100 trees being planted, as part of larger programme,
targeted in the counci's Air Quality Management Areas - Ringway,
£49,971.06
* contribute to the implementation of an air source heat pump
system at Fletcher's Lea in Ware – Ware Town Council,
£2,400.
Option 1 - Fund the initiatives as described.
RECOMMENDED.
Option 2 - Not fund all or some of the works. NOT RECOMMENDED
because the proposed works will lead to evidence-based carbon
reductions in support on the UKSPF outcomes, and/or the
council’s Climate Change Strategy.
