Originally from Derbyshire, I qualified with a Bachelor of Education degree at Goldsmiths College, University of London.

I taught for over 26 years in NW London and a further 16 years in the local area of Hertford.

I am passionately interested in social welfare which encompasses housing for all and education from the early years to secondary school.

As I come from a rural area of Derbyshire, I am also very interested in modes of transport particularly from rural areas.

I have been a District Councillor in Hertford Sele Ward whether there is a large number of residents on very low income and the inequality this brings is a constant component of my case work.
