The current lease will expire shortly and the
tenant would like a new lease on similar terms. Granting a new
lease on the terms agreed will maintain rental income and will
provide flexibility to both parties.

Grant a new 3 year lease for 43 Elizabeth
Road, Bishop's Stortford, with a mutual break option
Lead officer: Lucy Smith
Buntingford depot is leased in from our
landlord Old English Furniture Limited. Alterations to the
buildings and site under the lease require landlords consent.
The Share Waste Service and their new waste contractor Veolia ES
limited have requested a number of alterations to the site to help
make the site and buildings work for day to day operations for the
rest of the waste contract that started in May 2025.
These alterations include, works to move the vehicle repair bay, a
break test pit, a new roller shutter door, EV charging
infrastructure, new toilet portacabin, new canteen portacabins and
new estate sign boards.
These alterations have been agreed by the landlord and by property
services at East Herts. This delegated decision is to allow East
Herts Legal Services to sign and seal both the licence for
alterations between Old English Furniture Limited and East Herts
Council and the licence between East Herts Council and Veolia ES
Limited, which in turn passes on our consent for Veolia to
undertake their proposed works.
